Mel Roze is a weaver of wonder and a teller of tall tales. Her creative path traces back to her earliest years, sparked by a childhood dream to capture the world through prose. Her very first narrative brought the neighborhood dogs to life on the page, and by 5th grade, a supportive teacher recognized her emerging voice, nurturing that budding passion. After penning a mystery about two intrepid children tracking a forest creature, Mel was honored with an invitation to the Young Authors Conference at Hope College—a pivotal moment that continues to guide her warm and reflective work today.
Drawing from a background rooted in psychology and a lifelong love of storytelling, Mel skillfully merges behavioral perspectives with boundless creativity. Her voice is uniquely descriptive and vibrantly imaginative, resulting in compositions that are clean, poignant, and deeply resonant. Every book is a labor of love, designed not just to entertain, but to build a bridge of trust between the author and the young readers (and their parents) who welcome these stories into their homes.
Serving others as a healthcare professional while navigating life as a breast cancer survivor, a devoted mother to a neurodivergent child, and an individual living with ADHD, Mel finds constant inspiration in the miracles of daily life. Writing serves as her creative escape, where she crafts stories that educate young minds, warm the heart, and provide a gentle refuge from the world’s more difficult moments. She remains forever searching for the next whimsical word to share with the world.
